Becoming a member
All Industrial Engineering and Management students at LUT are welcome to become members. Your membership will last until you graduate from LUT university (note that there are exceptions for the IEM highway students). All guild members are entitled to receive Kapital student overalls.
Members can also join our annual general meetings and run for the board and officer positions. You will also gain access to the ‘Kapital Members’ and ‘Kapital Announcements’ Telegram groups, which function as our primary information channel.
Advocacy
We are your advocates towards various stakeholders within the University. Kapital provides a channel for students to voice their feedback about courses, which is then conveyed to course teachers and their associated departments.
We take part in multiple task groups and meetings to represent IEM students throughout the year with LTKY, KOE and other guilds. Moreover, the guild acts as a mediator, effectively resolving conflicts between students and faculty, ensuring a cooperative academic environment.
Membership benefits
Kapital arranges excursions to other universities, companies, and cities, providing students with various networking opportunities. Throughout these events students will gain knowledge about working culture and become closer to Finnish working life.
Moreover, members will be eligible for any discounted event ticket prices and overall patches. Kapital members will also be able to get their own overalls, which are a vital part of student life in Finland.
